The holidays are a great time to introduce our new friends to some American traditions. This year we teamed up with the Israel Family to build Gingerbread houses.
Three quick Points:
1. This is an Israel Family Tradition they have been doing for years, we are thankful they let us join in.
2. Gingerbread is in short supply here so we used waffle board.
3. Truth be told Jen and Randy pulled this whole thing off and were amazing.
So now on to the fun. We invited about 50 of or closest Serb friends played Christmas Music, drank hot cider, ate a ton of Christmas cookies and constructed castles, houses, and Belgrade landmarks. I made my Serbian acting debut in the role of Josip (Joseph) in our Nativity play. This was the highlight of the evening as the Israel kids and Stevens' kids did an amazing play about the Birth of Jesus - as a treat to our guests it was performed in Serbian.
Two truths:
1. We recorded the play earlier and played it on the big screen.
2. I read my lines on cue cards, memorization was way too hard.
THIS PLAY WILL BE POSTED SOON. JEN IS WORKING ON SUBTITLES
We had a great time, here are some pics of all the fun
