Luke 23:40 But the other criminal rebuked him. "Don't you fear God," he said, "since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong."
For me this may be the hardest part of the Crusifixion, Christ received my punishment. I am unjust, I should be on the cross, but Christ took my place, and because of that I can live in freedom.
